David Fox’s fresh, “detail-obsessed” approach to design is born of a fascination with artistic minimalism and philosophical reductionism—the practice of reducing things to their simplest form. His painting and art studies led to a fascination with architecture—with its usefulness and the challenges of designing to the site and to the needs of the client. After graduating from Washington University’s School of Architecture, Mr. Fox went on to study modern and contemporary European architecture at the University of Stuttgart. He moved to Berlin to work for HOK. He has also worked for S. Russell Groves and Ohlhausen DuBois Architects in New York City.
Mr. Fox focuses on the details involved in creating homes that respond to and support the client’s art collection. In the process, Mr. Fox works to understand his clients, their vision, and the critical details that enhance and distinguish Stonefox’s architectural concept.
