Chappaqua Residence
Renovation, restoration, addition, interior design
The clients were enamored by the vintage 1961 glass house perched on nine rolling acres on Chappaqua Mountain. Years of poor maintenance left the house in desperate need of a major overhaul. A complete gut renovation was required to modernize the mechanical systems, update poorly designed structure, and create a warmer richer interior. Custom teak display shelves line the central corridor to create a “Library Hall” for the owner’s collection of Asian art, artifacts and books. The strong Asian theme original to the home was maintained, and further extended into the new glass addition.
