The clients were enamored by the vintage 1961 glass house perched on nine rolling acres on Chappaqua Mountain. Years of poor maintenance left the house in desperate need of a major overhaul. A complete gut renovation was required to modernize the mechanical systems, update poorly designed structure, and create a warmer richer interior. Custom teak display shelves line the central corridor to create a “Library Hall” for the owner’s collection of Asian art, artifacts and books. The strong Asian theme original to the home was maintained, and further extended into the new glass addition.
